Pickle pounding

Most of our readers probably don't know what a pounding is... It was started a long time ago by the Quakers and is an old fashioned way of helping someone stock their pantry. It was really handy for newlyweds or others just starting out... Well we are here to offer you in a pickle help ... A pickle pounding.

Our sweet and spicy pickles are a great pantry staple for all those times that you need a quick appetizer or just a little something to spice up a dish... Use them as an appetizer and serve them with Buttermilk Ranch dressing... Or stock up on our other products like our artisan jams... Just like grandma used to make.

Don't forget to add several jams to your selection. No pantry would be complete without our tomato or our orangey fig jam. It's what makes morning toast DEVINE!!!

Okay are your taste buds hitting a high note??? Well they are about to sing the Hallelujah Chorus when they here our menu for our fancy food truck out at the Cowtown Chow Down this Friday and Saturday!!!

We'll have pimento cheese stuffed sliders; tacos, Sloppy Joes, IAP brisket sandwiches with our tomato jam and... back by pickle peep demand.... IAP hummus with pita chips... Grilled in a pickle PB&Jam (strawberry vanilla) sandwiches and for a little bit of southern sweetness ... A Texas sheet cake that'll have you singing "Sweet Splendiferous" ... As one of our readers pontificated, "YUM-YUM!"
Top it off with a wholesome swig of Holy Kombucha... that's what we are talking' about!

We serve from 11 to 2 and 5-10... Come say, "Hey" and stock up too... We're starting a pickle pounding in your world!

LIFE'S GREATEST MOMENTS START in a pickle.

Now... put this baby on some sweet pancakes or french toast and you've got yourself some serious, splendiferous breakfast... that's what we are talking about!

French Toast in a pickle STYLE

8 slices of brioche or challah bread
1 cup half-and-half
3 Large eggs
1/4 tsp sea salt
4 T butter
2 T of in a pickle Peach Cinnamon Jam or Lemony Pear Vanilla Jam

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine half-and-half, eggs, salt and jam in medium bowl and whisk together.  Dip bread into mixture, allowing to soak for 30 seconds on each side.  Then place on rack in a sheet pan and allow to sit for one to two minutes.

Over medium/low heat melt butter in pan, place 2 slices of bread in pan at a time and cook until golden brown.  Remove from pan and place on rack in pre-heated oven for 5minutes.  Repeat with all 8 slices.  Serve immediately with syrup, and a dollop of in a pickle Peach Cinnamon or Lemony Pear Vanilla Jam.
