James' Is A Cookin'
There's a sweet moment of bliss, when I find the time between pickle projects, to throw down some good food and the other day was one of them. Karen and I and the boys were home, it was a nice spring day and the grill was a callin' so... I went to work... on some mighty fine hot & spicy turkey burgers! Makes you wanta shout out a "Whoop!"
Here's the recipe just like I did it...
* 2 lbs of ground turkey
* handful of fresh thinly sliced serrano peppers (NOT IN A CAN!)
* seasoning like garlic powder, onion powder, lemon pepper, garlic pepper, seasoned pepper
* A bunch of thinly sliced green onions (THE WHOLE THING, NOT JUST ONE END OR THE OTHER!)
* dash of salt
Now mix all that together with your hands (WASH BEFORE) and take a big chunk of meat about the size of your hand and throw that down on a hot grill.
Remember... these babies aren't for the faint of heart or cryer's! Grill those patties until their done... you'll know... Cookin' isn't Cookin' if you don't put some love AND time into it... THEN grab some buns or 40 calorie bread like I did (I've lost 42 lbs this year) paint'em with olive oil, toast'em up right, pop on the pattie, maybe some cheese... AND don't forget our Original sweet and spicy, pickle!
And what about the side? Well, we had broccoli slaw. Here's how I mixed it:
* 1 bag of broccoli slaw
* seasoning like garlic and onion powder, red/white and black fresh ground pepper, and a few pops of cayenne
* little bit of fat-free mayo
* little bit of fat-free atalina dressing
And top it off with a beverage of your choice... on my diet I was limited to water but I was dreamin' of a Guiness Harp!
