Howdy, to all our Pickle Peeps from the State Fair of Texas!

Drop by and see us in the State Fair's Food & Fiber Pavilion.

Last Thursday, James headed to a big sneak-peek party before opening day on Friday... You can see a photo of him with our pickles at D Magazine where the writer gives a shout out to some of the best samples!  AND YES... we made the cut or taste as it may be.

Our Original sweet and spicy chip is being sampled by a great many folk.

On Opening Day, James handed out lots of samples!!!

Pickles are leaping off the shelves, and like the GO Texan sign says... "Good People. Great Products."

We are very happy to be surrounded by just that...
good people and great products!

The State Fair is a fun time... Even Elsie seems to be enjoying herself.

             And Beauegard seems pretty
                                   pumped too!

Ice cream, chicken wings... IN A PICKLE

What do you crave?  We think maybe these two ladies have a great excuse to crave our pickles!  We debuted in Fort Worth last weekend at the New Public Market in the parking lot of Into The Garden on Camp Bowie.  Boy!  Did we have fun!  Our Original sold like hotcakes and we hope to be back there again the first Saturday of October.

Crystal Willars, fwfoodie found us! AND
received a free jar of pickles for following us on twitter

We made some new friends...

and buzzed around with some old ones...

And Emilee DiPaula whose
one year of age showed us
some cute poses
at the Carter Farms booth
where the fresh produce
was prolific.

We'd also like to give a shout out to John David Bartlett who made us feel at home, AND invited us back!  There's nothing like Farmer's Markets... the real, down home feel, the people, the exquisite food and fresh produce...

Pickle Connoisseurs Unite!

Some like hot, some like spicy, others prefer a sweet treat, and then there's those that like the real dill...

Whatever your taste - most like 'em crunchy!  Did you know that professional pickle packers say a crunch should be audible at 10 paces!  We haven't tried that out here at in a pickle but our test tasters so far seem to like the crunch, the punch... AND the splendiferous spicy and sweet taste of our in a pickle Original!

Pickle Connoisseur

The weather was a bit cooler at our last Farmer's Market Weekend tour and folks were out and about.  We captured a few pickle connoisseurs trying our Original, and well we can't tell you whether the crunch was heard at the next booth or not but we're willing to bet our tasters had a splendiferous finish!

Jodi McGary shows her pickle purchase!

Come on out this weekend and try 'em for yourself... If you are a pickle connoisseur you need to delight your palate with our perfect combination of sweet and spicy and if you're not a pickle person stop by and try a taste because remember... Life's greatest moments start in a pickle!

Pickle Party!

What better way to celebrate the launch of our Original Pickle than to host an
in a pickle party!

That's what we did the other night, we had our pickle staff over for a splendiferous good time.

Our Westies, Angus and Mac greeted guests, most of whom they knew already, and managed a few slobbery kisses here and there.

James managed the grill,
Karen hosted from the kitchen...

and we celebrated those who are helping us get a great start!

Like James' momma says... "you gotta dance with the ones that brung ya"... AND WE DID...

We'll be dancing this weekend... come by and have a twirl with our sweet and spicy Original.

Tail Gating Farmer's Market Style

It was a hot day in Texas!  We hit the Four Seasons Markets in Allen, TX today at Watters Creek.  The market is held in a parking lot and it was HOT!  But we loved meeting all the people that came out AND sampled AND bought our pickles!  It's amazing the people you meet that love specialty foods and have a hankering for something sweet and spicy --- that describes our Original pickle right down to the brine!

We're headed to Celebration Farmer's Market on Saturday in Dallas in the parking lot of Celebration Restaurant, it's west on Lovers Lane near Lemmon Ave from 8 am until noon.  And we will be at the Four Seasons Markets in Addison at The Village on The Parkway on Sunday 10 am to 3pm!  It's tail gating Farmer's Market Style... Balloons, Boudin and Pickles - What a Combination!

We got our Canjun on... packed up our pickles and headed to Louisiana last weekend for some balloon chasin', boudin gnoshin', pickle eatin' good times.  AND boy did we ever, cher!

We followed the Shadeaux Dancer crew at the Pennington Balloon Championship in Baton Rouge, and of course like many Balloon Festivals across the country there was the Mass Ascension, the Balloon Glow and such... but the food... well, only in Cajun Country could you find boudin like we did there, a delectable blend of rice, pork, and spices all in a natural casing and we topped it with our Original pickle... ooh cher! Ca c'est bon (That's good)!!!  It was good!

There were other goodies to taste too... like cracklins - those fried pieces of pork fat with a small amount of attached skin peppered with Cajun spices.  Oh my!!!  James thought he'd died and gone to heaven!  But we have to admit the chicken fricassee was almost too good to be true, succulent chicken stewed in a gravy made with a dark roux singing with onions, bell peppers, celery and garlic laid over rice.  And we topped it off with onion rings that made you just want to slap your Mama!

Yep, in a pickle hit Louisiana with a smile and we came back with a satisfied grin...
